Case Studies
Procurement through Gamification
Designing a platform to streamline the procurement workflow
Challenge
Designing an internal procurement portal that enhances the existing platform by streamlining the “request to procurement” workflow.
The main problem identified revolved around a lack of transparency in the flow of information, leading to prolonged delays in addressing work items.
High Level goal
The key areas of focus for improvement were identified as follows:
- Increasing Efficiency: Our objective was to streamline processes and optimize workflow to enhance overall efficiency.
- Enhancing Information Transparency: We recognized the importance of transparent information flow within the application.
- Motivating Users for Faster Task Completion: We acknowledged the need to incentivize users to complete tasks promptly.
Project Approach
From definition to delivery
Alignment and Learning
Understanding the process flow
Although we were not starting the app design from scratch or implementing drastic changes to the UI, we recognized the importance of understanding areas for improvement. Our approach involved gaining insights into the scope of enhancements, identifying user expectations for the revised design, and aligning with industry standards.
Understanding the user
After gaining a deep understanding of the product, our focus shifted towards understanding the users and their perceptions of the task flow.
User Segments
After understanding the product we moved on to who uses this and how they about the task flow.
Following are the user segments:
1. Requester
2. Approval Manager
3. Dispatcher
4. Buyer
5. Gatekeeper
6. Store Supervisor
User Interviews
The requester was a primary persona, three users were interviewed with varied goals
Wireframing
Wireframes were created to give stakeholders a base structure of the design and receive feedback on it before moving to the visual design phase.
Visual Design
The finalised wireframes were now adapted to the theming and design language of the Bosch design system.
